Lancaster's Past, Our Future

Founded in 2021, Dick Young Heritage House began with a commitment to preserving Lancaster's history. Our mission has since grown to meet community needs by promoting volunteerism and fostering intergenerational bonds. We are proud to bring people together to celebrate our shared heritage and build a stronger, more connected town.

Mission

To recognize, energize, and support community volunteerism in the Town of Lancaster.

  • Create and implement programs that recognize the good work done by volunteers.
  • Educate the community on the value of volunteer involvement
  • Assist in strengthening the community by building both the number of volunteers and their impact on our community

To showcase the significant history that exists in the Town of Lancaster

  • Educate the community on the deep history rooted in the early 1800s
  • Lead the preservation of historical sites
  • Provide a venue for historical exhibits and events
  • Promote tourism as a source of revenue
  • To maintain adequate revenue to support this mission and the operation of The Heritage House assets

  • Residents of the Town of Lancaster and Western NY recognize and appreciate the rich history that exists in the Town of Lancaster.
  • Historical sites are a source of tourist-based revenue for businesses in the Town of Lancaster.
